چکیده

It has been previously demonstrated (1) that the length of the period of DNA synthesis (S period) as measured by uptake of tritiated thymidine is approximately the same in several animal cells. Since the length of this period (with a range of 6/~ to 8 hours) appears to be independent of the species of the cell, the chromosome number, the cells of human diploid strains in long term cultivation.

Supportive Effects of Human Embryonic Fibroblast Cell Lines on Growth and Proliferation of EBV-Transformed Lymphoblastoid Cells

Human diploid fibroblast cells produce a spectrum of necessary growth factors and extracellular matrix (ECM) components essential for growth and proliferation of a variety of other cell types. In this study, the effect of five human embryonic fibroblast cell lines, isolated from liver, lung, skin and foreskin tissues, was investigated. A coculture system analyse was employed to cloning efficien...

Dna Synthesis and Chromosomal Asynchrony

A number of studies investigating the chronology of D N A synthesis in human chromosomes have indicated a degree of asynchrony among the members of the complement. The most striking asynchrony of D N A synthesis demonstrated within pairs of human chromosomes is the late replication of one of the X chromosomes shown by pulse labeling with tritiated thymidine in cultures of leucocytes (3, 4, 7, 8...

DNA-Repair Capacity in Down\'s Syndrome

Down's syndrome (DS) is the most common chromosomal abnormality in human. Subjects with DS are known to be peridisposed to develop leukemia. The molecular basis of the association between DS and leukemia is unknown. The unscheduled DNA synthesis (UDS) test measure the ability of DNA-repair in mammalian cells after excision of a stretch of DNA containing the region of damage induced by chemical ...
